Quarter Master Report

Matt stood in for Henri and had some shirts but no owned up to having paid money for them so they will be passed back to Henri for follow up at the next meeting.

Ride Co-ordinator

Tarana Pub with Brett, apparently most got home before the rain came tumbling down but it was very cold.

Nan Tien Temple with Keith which Trevor was able to talk about.  As he had never been there before found it a great experience.  M the C had gear trouble but was fixed and to be able to get back to Sydney using third gear all the way.

AGM Escapees Weekend – John Hutcho organised the weekend which was popular with 18 bikes leaving St Ives and few others who also arrived at Gloucester via a different route.  The lunch stop was Singleton and then some did a bit of the a dirt track while others stuck to the easy roads - all arrived safely at Gloucester for a great evening and dinner at the Roundabout Hotel.  The singer could have done with some lessons on sound quality and loudness and the pub’s early closing of around 9.15 was a bit of shock but still a good weekend.

General Business

Stephen Dearnley reported that Neville Grey received an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday honours’ list for work on the Motorcycle Council.

Townsville: there were 3,712 registrations and 82 new members joined the club that week.  As Townsville is very spread out there were many long rides and Honda were very happy because they sold 13 Goldwings.  The National Committee was returned intact, and the following places with have the next AGMs:  Penrith in 2009, Albany in 2010 and Lower Hunter Valley in 2011.  Rick Bedford was given a life membership to the club.

Alan Bateman and Terry Fewel attended the extended Natcom Meeting, where the most significant thing to happen was #1’s mobile going off in the meeting, after Kim Kennerson specifically asking for all mobiles to be switched off.

Trivia Night – Friday 27th June 7.30pm at the Dee Why Builders Club

Dinner is available in the downstairs bistro.   David gave us some test questions which some got correct and some got incorrect and some cheated (Glen and Anne-Marie).  Regardless it was lots of fun as will the Trivia night so be there with thinking caps placed squarely on the head for a fun and (not) so brain taxing night!

Ron has a KTM 50 for sale – kids bike for $1850.
